Description
Take a tour through Concrete Pipe & Precast (CP&P)’s Ashland, VA, plant and get a glimpse of what it takes to make a concrete pipe. Mark Jillson, CP&P Operations Manager, and Tryg Hoff, P.E., Northeast Region Engineer for the American Concrete Pipe Association, walk you through the plant and give you insights into the process of the production of concrete pipe. The tour will start with the aggregate, take you through the welding of the cages, pouring and curing of the concrete, testing, and eventually on to the jobsite. This is an opportunity to see the production process from the comfort of your chair!
Presenters

Mark Jillson
With over 12 years of hands-on experience at Concrete Pipe and Precast, Mark has built a solid foundation in the concrete industry through a range of roles including machine operations, maintenance, production, and safety. Currently serving as Operations Manager, he oversees quality, safety, and operational efficiency across multiple pipe plants in the Mid-Atlantic region. Outside of work, he enjoys all things automotive, adventures with his dog, and traveling.

Trygve Hoff, P.E., ENV SP
Currently based in Rochelle, Virginia, he has been working for the ACPA since 2012. As the Northeast Region Engineer, his job is to be a resource to the public agencies and design engineers who build their region’s infrastructure. His typical day includes providing training to engineers, contractors, and public agencies. He spends his time reviewing local, state, or national specifications; responding to requests for more information or help from engineers within his region, and working with ACPA to ensure that concrete pipe remains the golden standard.
