Press Release
Irving, Texas – July 22, 2021 – The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) is proud to announce its annual Concrete Pipe Week will be held August 15-21, 2021. Concrete Pipe Week recognizes the significance and affirms the contributions the reinforced concrete pipe and precast industry has to a community’s quality of life.
This year’s Concrete Pipe Week theme is “Impacting Communities with the Resilience of Concrete Pipe” and celebrates the concrete pipe industry and ACPA members’ positive impact on a community’s infrastructure, financial state, long-term sustainability, and overall well-being.
“Reinforced concrete pipe has been an important part of our nation’s infrastructure for over 150 years, and it continues to evolve and offer impactful solutions to the local community,” says Michael Kremer, ACPA Vice President of Marketing. “Concrete Pipe Week 2021 represents the best the concrete pipe industry has to offer, and we look forward to celebrating how concrete pipe makes a difference in the local community through jobs, disaster-proof infrastructure, a long life-cycle, and much more.”
The week-long Concrete Pipe Week celebration includes activities and events at the national, state, and local level, such as:
- Complimentary Webinars: The ACPA will offer four webinar opportunities for attendees to learn about the resilience and impact concrete pipe has on the world around us. Topics include innovations in concrete pipe, building safer and more resilient communities, the long-term impact of concrete pipe, and pipe buoyancy and flotation. Attendees will earn 1 PDH by attending these hour-long sessions.
- Virtual Concrete Pipe Plant Tour: A virtual tour will take attendees through two different ACPA members’ concrete pipe facilities. Guests will have the chance to see an overview of the process it takes to make pipe, from the aggregate that comes into the plant to the truck that takes it away.
- State Proclamations: Every year the American Concrete Pipe Association works with Governors to raise awareness about the benefits that reinforced concrete pipe and precast bring to the state and local level.
- Red Cross Fundraiser: For the second consecutive year, the ACPA is providing an opportunity for our industry to give back to an organization that also impacts communities, the American Red Cross. Giving opportunities will open shortly before Concrete Pipe Week.
In addition, Concrete Pipe Week recognizes the contributions of ACPA’s partners: Public Work agencies, DOTs, engineering companies, associate members, steel producers, form producers, casting producers, the trucking industry, sand and rock producers, cement producers, contractors, academia, and everyone associated with the buried infrastructure industry and the products this industry requires.
“Concrete pipe has helped build and sustain the places we all live,” Kremer adds, “and the ACPA is proud to celebrate the industry, the quality of the products our members make, and the resilient communities we help build.”
